Business History
Canady Mfg. was founded in 1941 by Guy Canady in a two-car garage in the city of Lynwood, California. We soon moved to a larger facility in Huntington Park. Canady Mfg. was incorporated in 1952. We were a major supplier of machine parts through WWII, The Korean War, and The Vietnam War. We moved into our current location in San Fernando, California in 1963. The Manufacturing Plant has expanded 3 times to our present 6,500 sq. ft. building. The company has continued to grow from the early days of a 4 employee "Manual" machining facility to the current 15-18 employee CNC Automated Machine Shop. Canady Mfg. has always been a "Family Business", and is currently owned by 2 of the founder's daughters. The General Manager, Quality Control Manager, Plant Manager, Shop Foreman and Office Manager, as well as other positions, are all currently held by family members.
Current Stage of Development
We are in the ongoing process of organizing our plant to a process known throughout the industry as "Lean Machining", which we believe will improve the bottom line and help increase production and profit. Canady Mfg. has been manufacturing Flanges, Bearings, Races, landing gear parts, and other parts for the past 35 years. A few of the Major Businesses we manufacture machined parts to "Purchase Order" for are Eaton/Aeroquip, Eaton Aerospace, Smith Aerospace and Whittaker Controls. We have been surveyed and approved to the Quality Level of MIL-I-45208, and even though we are a small company, it is our goal to become IS0-9003 compliant. In working for Primary Manufacturers, Canady Mfg. also has experience in submitting "Frozen Manufacturing Planning" for engineered drawings prior to production.
